Bookings can be made for 3 nights (Saturday to Tuesday), 4 nights (Tuesdays to Saturdays) or 7 nights (Saturday-Saturday or Tuesday-Tuesday)
We have two well maintained moorings which can offer protection from anything apart from a North and Westerly wind. Even better news is that when you stay on a mooring, you are a resident and so can eat with us any night. We even have a lovely big shower room available at £5 per use for those of you craving a good wash!
If you would like to use our mooring but not dine with us, please do call ahead on 01687 462667. We ask for a £15 donation towards maintenance of the mooring and this is payable over the phone.

Doune Knoydart offers a unique restaurant experience with a single 3 course menu served to all the guests each evening ( dietary intolerances and special requests can be catered for). With an emphasis on Scottish produce including home grown fruit and vegetables, the food at Doune is
always a treat. The menu varies week to week depending on supplies, but you can expect a Middle Eastern Vegetarian menu on Thursday, a menu featuring Scottish Game on Friday, and West Coast Fish on a Saturday.
Doune is 6 miles west of Inverie on the Inverie Airor road. There is a 15 minute walk down a steep hillside path to reach Doune from the road….and of course a 15 minute walk back up to the road after dinner! Your accommodation providers might be able to offer you a taxi service or a car loan, or alternatively there are E bikes to hire at a special ‘Doune Taxi’ rate from https://www.knoydart-ebikehire.com/.
Finally, we run a “no tech table” policy here at Doune, so please don’t bring phones or other devices to the table.
What are the boat times on handover days?
We leave Mallaig between noon and 5pm depending on tides but will always wait for guests arriving on the afternoon train. On departure day we leave Doune at 9am.
Can you arrange a taxi on Knoydart?
We aren’t able to arrange taxis from Inverie for dinner bookings
Do you take cards?
Our preferred payment methods are cash and direct bank payments via the Super platform. Both these methods keep our bank fees as low as possible and as an added bonus, if you use the Super platform you receive a 5% reward to put towards a future stay at Doune.
Can we book boat trips in advance?
We will sit and plan boat trips for the week on your arrival day and we will aim to make sure everybody gets to do what they are hoping to do. Trips are always dependent on the weather and the tide
Do you cater for those with different diets, allergies and intolerance?
Yes, if you let us know when you book we can cater for any diet. We do however have a small kitchen so if you have serious allergies we will need to speak to you before you arrive.
