Munro Bagging Week at Doune, Knoydart
Knoydart and the surrounding area offer six of the most remote Munros in Scotland, making it both incredible, wild territory but also challenging to access and isolated from help if needed.
Our full-board Munro bagging week overcomes the challenges with private boat access to the most remote mountains and the best routes, all with a fully qualified mountain guide to take the strain of planning and navigation. You need only lace up your boots, place one foot in front of the other and soak up the experience. It’s a challenging week and a good level of hill fitness is needed.
We’ll aim to get you up all six Munros during your stay over four of the days with the possibility of one or two of the three Corbetts on the other days if you have the energy:
Ladhar Bheinn (1020) Luinne Bheinn (939) Meall Buidhe (946)
Sgùrr na Ciche (1040m) Garbh Chìoch Mhòr (1013) Beinn Sgritheall (974)
Beinn na Caillich (785) Sgùrr Coire Choinnichean (779)
Ben Aden (887)
Accommodation and food are at the spectacular Doune, Knoydart, famed for its restaurant and incredible location. Our rooms and fully licenced restaurant provide everything you need during your stay, including drying facilities! We have three large ensuite rooms that can be made up as twin or superking, and one small double, ensuite room.
The itinerary is flexible, influenced almost entirely by the sea state and tides, although our minibus can overcome this on any day we wouldn’t want to use the boat. However, in no particular order, we’d aim for something like:
– Day 1: Ladhar Bheinn from Barrisdale, boat access into Loch Hourn, finish at Inverie – Day 2: Sgùrr na Ciche and Garbh Chioch, boat access into Loch Nevis, start and finish at Sourlies/Camusrory
– Day 3: Rest day or a Corbett
– Day 4: Beinn Sgritheall, boat access into Loch Hourn, finish at Arnisdale – Day 5: Rest day or a Corbett
– Day 6: Luinne Bheinn and Meall Buidhe, boat access to Camusrory and finish in Inverie
The two rest/Corbett days also allow for a day ashore with shorter walks from your room if the weather prevents getting high.
The cost, £1470 per person and is inclusive of accommodation, all meals, mountain guide, boat/minibus access to mountains and boat transfer to/from Mallaig at the start and finish of your trip. Solo travellers may need to share a twin room with another guest depending on the make-up of the group.
